Multiply & Divide mixes times sums and sharing sums. Quick recall of these facts frees your mind for harder problems. It plays just like Add & Subtract: the same countdown, keypad, 5 second penalty, pause sheet and score screen. The science: The classic workouts.
How do I play Multiply & Divide?
Tap Multiply & Divide on the home screen, and after the countdown type each answer on the keypad. It is checked as soon as you have typed enough digits. About half the sums are times, half are division, and every division comes out to a whole number.
What do the levels ask?
- Easy: times and sharing up to 6 × 6
- Medium: times and sharing up to 12 × 12
- Hard: multiplying up to 15 × 10, dividing with answers up to 15
- Very Hard: multiplying from 5 × 5 up to 19 × 19 (division stays as on Hard)
Hard and Very Hard are part of Pro. Change the level on the Math Adapt AI card in Settings.
What happens when I get one wrong?
The answer shakes and clears for another try, and each wrong try adds 5 seconds. After three wrong tries the right answer shows in red, often with See how: a short animation of a method such as splitting the sum into parts.
How is my time worked out?
Your time plus 5 seconds for every wrong try. Best times are kept for each level and number of questions. See Add & Subtract for everything on the score screen.
Can I use a keyboard?
Yes: digits to answer, Backspace to delete, Delete or C to clear, Esc to pause.
Is Multiply & Divide free?
Yes, at Easy and Medium; each round counts toward your free workouts. Pro adds unlimited workouts and the harder levels.
