Math facts and fluency are a big part of elementary school math in the United States. Math Workout turns that practice into short daily rounds for kids and grown-ups alike, from quick addition to times tables, a space shooter and a runner game.

Fits what is taught at school
The Common Core State Standards for Mathematics, which many states' standards are based on, ask for fluency in steps. In Grade 2, students fluently add and subtract within 20 using mental strategies, and by the end of the grade know from memory all sums of two one-digit numbers. In Grade 3 they fluently multiply and divide within 100, and by the end of the grade know from memory all products of two one-digit numbers. In Grade 4 they fluently add and subtract multi-digit whole numbers.1 Your state's own standards may differ, so check them too.
Math Workout's keypad rounds and Times Table Master practice the kind of quick fact recall these standards describe. It is not a certified Common Core program; it is practice that fits alongside school.
Everyday math in the United States
Everyday math here comes with a twist: the price on the shelf is often not what you pay, because in most states sales tax is added at the register. Adding up a few items, working out a tip on a restaurant bill or counting your change from a $20 bill are all quick mental math moments.

The World Challenge, from the United States
World Challenge gives every player on the planet the same 50 questions each day, and the leaderboard shows a flag beside every name. So a third grader in Ohio and a commuter in Mumbai meet exactly the same sums. In England children learn their tables all the way to 12 × 12 by Year 4,2 so think of the world board as a friendly test of your facts. Free players get one ranked run a day.
