Galaxy Run is a space game for quick answers. Enemy ships fall towards you, each carrying a sum. Type the answer and your laser locks on. Clear a planet and fly on to the next, all the way to the Infinity Gate. The science: Galaxy Run.
How do I play?
- Tap Galaxy Run. The map shows today's galaxy; drag it to spin it.
- Tap START FROM ADDITRON.
- Ships fall with sums on their tags. Type an answer: the moment your digits match a ship, it fires and shows LOCK ON.
- Each planet has 3 waves. Clear them to win the planet, then choose FLY ON to carry your score, ships and bombs to the next one, or MAP.
A ship that reaches the bottom costs one of your 3 ships. Lose them all and the run ends. Typing a number that matches no ship halves your chain bonus, but never costs a ship.
Which planets are there?
Ten planets in one path: Additron (adding), Bondaria (number bonds), Subtraxia (taking away), Cryptara (missing numbers), Prime Belt (primes and factors), Multiplex Prime (times), Radixia (squares and roots), Dividia (division), Fractalis (a mix) and The Infinity Gate, where General Obelus waits. The first time you fly Bondaria, Cryptara and Radixia, a card shows how they work.
The first four planets are free. The rest are part of Pro: a free run ends after Cryptara.
What is a new galaxy every day?
Every full run starts at Additron, and the map shows how far you got today. At midnight UK time a new galaxy opens and today's path starts again. Your medals, best scores, badges and pilot rank are kept for good.
What does CONTINUE FROM do?
Below the main button, CONTINUE FROM lets you start at the furthest planet you reached today, or another planet you have already reached and earned the right to fly. Your score starts again from 0, so the biggest scores come from full runs from Additron.
How do smart bombs work?
You start each run with 2 smart bombs and can carry 3. The round bomb button (or B) destroys every ship on screen. Bombed ships count towards the wave but score no points. Shoot the Gold Tanker for an extra bomb: it comes now and then when you have fewer than 3.
How do medals and points work?
Clear a planet without losing a ship for Gold (and a lost ship repaired), lose one for Silver, more for Bronze. Points grow with the planet, the wave, how many planets deep you are, your chain of hits in a row and how high the ship was when you hit it. A gold-framed bounty ship carries a sum you find hard and is worth double.
What is Top Pilots?
The Galaxy Run leaderboard. TODAY shows each pilot's best run of the day; THIS WEEK adds up each pilot's best run of every day since Monday, so flying every day helps. The patrol pips light up for each of the last 7 days you flew. You enter a pilot name the first time. See Leaderboards.
Can I pause?
Yes: the pause button, P or Esc. The ships stop and the sums are hidden while you are paused.
Can I play with a keyboard?
Yes. On the map, the arrow keys choose a planet and Enter launches; L opens Top Pilots, M turns sound on or off. In a mission, type the digits, Backspace to undo, Delete to clear, B for a bomb and P or Esc to pause.
My device says it cannot start 3D graphics. What now?
Galaxy Run's missions need 3D graphics in your browser. The map falls back to a flat version, but a mission cannot start. Update your browser, or try another one.
