Prime Raiders is a fast space shoot-'em-up across 100 waves in 10 Acts, with a boss at the end of each Act. It is a test of control as much as math: some targets you must not shoot. The science: Prime Raiders.
How do I unlock Prime Raiders?
Its card appears on the home screen once you earn a medal on Cryptara (or the Prime Belt) in Galaxy Run. With Pro it is open straight away. Doc tells you when it unlocks, and the card wears a NEW tag until you open it.
How do I play?
Drag anywhere on the screen to steer your ship, and tap to fire. Blast the enemy ships and survive each wave. Your shield recharges when you avoid damage for a moment; a hit your shield cannot take costs a ship. You start with 3 ships.
Why must I not shoot the green pods?
Green pods are friendly. Shooting one costs shield and points: "Friendly! Hold fire." Let them pass for a bonus, or fly over one to collect it as an orb. In wave 8 of each Act a mothership arrives: fly into it within 30 seconds to deliver your orbs for points.
What are the power-ups?
Enemies sometimes drop them: twin cannons, spread shot and a laser, a shield refill, an extra bomb, double score for a short time, an extra life and a wingman drone. A smart bomb clears every enemy on screen but never a pod.
What is a math gate?
At wave 10 of each Act, a boss asks a run of questions, one at a time, each against a timer. A wrong answer just needs fixing; every third time-out costs a ship. Break the gate, then destroy the boss. The gates grow longer and harder with each Act.
What happens when I run out of ships?
You can continue up to twice a game. With Pro continues are free; without Pro, continuing opens the Pro screen. Your score, best and the wave you reached show at the end, and your best runs go on the Prime Raiders leaderboard once you have a pilot name.
Can I play with a keyboard?
Yes: the arrow keys or A and D steer, Space fires (hold it to keep firing), B drops a smart bomb, and P or Esc pauses. In a math gate, type the digits.
Is it free?
Yes, once it is unlocked. Each game counts as a workout toward your free workouts. Pro adds free continues.
