New workouts and fixes reach you without you having to do anything. Here is how.
How does the Android app update?
Two ways:
- Small updates to the workouts and screens download by themselves while you play, only the parts that changed. A card under the home header shows Downloading an update, then Update ready with Restart now. If you do nothing, the new version starts next time you open the app, or when you come back to the home screen. It never restarts in the middle of a round.
- App updates come from Google Play. When one is available, Google Play's own update sheet appears in the app; after the download, Math Workout asks you to Restart now to finish, or Later.
Will an update use my mobile data?
Only small ones by themselves. If an update is bigger than 5 MB and your phone is on mobile data, the card asks first: Update available, with the size and a Download button. You can wait for Wi-Fi instead.
How does the website update?
When you open Math Workout online, you always get the newest version. If a tab stayed open while we updated, the home screen offers it once: see The update notice.
What does the update notice mean?
"A new version of Math Workout is ready" means a newer version is waiting. Restart now starts it; Later keeps your current one until next time. See The update notice.
Where can I see what changed?
After an update with something new to see, a What's new card appears on the home screen the next time you open it. You can see it again in Settings, on the What's new card. The full list is on What's new in Math Workout.
Which version do I have?
Math Workout does not show a version number. If your app seems out of date, open it while connected to the internet and stay on the home screen for a moment, or check Google Play for an app update.
Do I lose my progress when I update?
No. Updates never touch your progress, best times, badges or settings.
